Golf Coaching

A great way to practice golf at home

A home golf simulator will allow you to practice golf at home, anytime. You will need to choose a place to play, but it doesn’t have to be a large space or even a dedicated room. While a dedicated space may be the ideal, having a portable setup will give you the convenience of practising your game anywhere, including at home, in the garden, and small indoor spaces.

You can use the data to perfect your swing, improve your distance, choose your kit, and create muscle memory to take to the green.

If you’re wondering how much a home golf simulator costs, you may be surprised to know that our bundles start from around £1,200. If you have more budget, you can choose a custom-built space fully kitted out with everything you need to enjoy the game off the course.

Benefits of a home golf simulator setup
For amateurs and professionals, a home golf simulator setup gives you the chance to play more often and experience iconic virtual courses. You’ll practise your swing and shot in real time, track game-changing data, and enjoy golf without the need for a course or driving range.
How a home golf simulator setup works
At the heart of a home golf simulator is a launch monitor, which measures the flight of the golf ball. The data is sent to simulation software to show the ball’s flight on screen. You can play virtual rounds, sharpen your skills with challenges, or practise as if you were at the driving range.

Home Golf Simulators FAQs

How much does a home golf simulator cost?

Our bundles start from around £1,200 for a simple net and launch monitor. High-end, bespoke enclosures with projectors, premium software, and professional finishes can cost £10,000–£20,000+, depending on your space and requirements.

What Equipment do I need for a golf simulator?

It's really dependent on what you want to get from your golf simulator experience. Some people are only interested in playing on famous courses, some only want the analytical data, some want to take their launch monitor out and about, and some want everything!

As a minimum, you will need decide on these options:

  1. Launch Monitor
  2. Hitting Enclosure
  3. Hitting Surface

Optional upgrades to decide on:

  1. Projector (not yet available at MIA)
  2. Device or Gaming PC (not yet available at MIA)
  3. Simulator Software
What space do I need for a home golf simulator?

As a guide, allow around 4–5 m in length, 3 m in width, and 2.7 m in height for a fixed setup. Portable simulators can fit into smaller areas such as garages, spare rooms, or gardens, making them flexible for home use.

What golf balls should I use in a home simulator?

You can use normal golf balls however the results (particularly the spin data) will not be as accurate as it should be. We would recommend purchasing ball tracking stickers or RCT balls to ensure the best results from your launch monitor. These stickers/RCT balls have been developed specifically with the technology to deliver the best results.

Some products recommend a specific ball, check the product pages for more information.

Can I add putting technology to my home golf simulator?

Absolutely. Compact putting mats, simulator software add-ons, and camera-based systems are available to help you practise your short game as well as your swing.
