An indoor golf simulator lets you practice, play and analyse the game away from the course. As technology continues to grow in popularity, The National Golf Foundation found that the number of simulator and screen golf users has grown from 3.8 million in 2015 to 8.1 million in 2024. Nearly 60% of users cite the ability to play regardless of weather as their primary reason as one of the main benefits.
Beyond convenience, the best golf simulators deliver detailed performance data that helps golfers to understand swing and ball flight, and make more informed equipment choices.
But the best golf simulators do more than simply allow you to play at any time. They equip you with the data parameters to understand how to improve your swing and ball flight, and help inform equipment choices.
Our installation partners, MIA Sports Solutions, will design your simulator to fit your space and suit your style. Whether you’re setting up in a garage, or have a commercial golf studio, there is a full installation service including premium hitting bays, impact screens, enclosures, projectors, and turf flooring. Using CAD design and planning, including 3D rendered images, you can visualise exactly what the finished product will look like in your chosen location.
The most realistic indoor golf experience we would recommend is Zen Golf, which features a floor that moves to simulate the lie of the course.

A professional golf simulator allows you to play golf when you want, whatever the weather and in a location anywhere in the world. A simulator setup is fun for the whole family and a great way to introduce new players to golf.
Going deeper, you’ll discover that an indoor golf simulator is for more than entertainment; it’s a sure way to improve your play. With performance feedback and analytics, you can identify any issues with your swing or chosen kit and make the necessary adjustments to enhance your play and reduce the risk of injury. A personal golf simulator will extend your playing hours, allowing you to take shots day and night, and through all seasons.
For commercial purposes, an indoor golf simulator enhances golf coaching with actionable data points to take onto the course. Golf club fitters can use the technology for clients to try before they buy in a simulated environment. Adding a golf simulator to your club allows members to enhance their practice with data feedback and experience virtual courses.

The minimum room size for your golf simulator will depend on which launch monitor you want to go with. Camera based launch monitors (photometric) will need slightly less space as they set up next to the ball. Radar based launch monitors set up behind the ball so they will need more space.
We would recommend Next to the Ball launch monitors minimum dimensions:
4 x 2.8 x 2.8 m
and for Behind the Ball launch monitors minimum dimensions:
5 x 2.8 x 2.8 m
(length x width x height)
It's really dependent on what you want to get from your golf simulator experience. Some people are only interested in playing on famous courses, some only want the analytical data, some want to take their launch monitor out and about, and some want everything!
As a minimum, you will need to decide on these options:
Optional upgrades to decide on:
Golf simulators offer a powerful way to practise and play year-round, combining detailed performance data with immersive virtual course play. While no simulator can perfectly replicate the feel of playing on a real course, modern systems provide highly accurate distance, ball flight, and club data that support meaningful improvement and smarter equipment decisions.
One of the biggest advantages of golf simulators is convenience. They allow golfers to practise at any time, regardless of weather or daylight, making them ideal for consistent training and enjoyable play throughout the year.
Launch monitors vary in price depending on features, portability, and data detail:
Remember, the launch monitor is typically the largest cost in a simulator setup, but other expenses - such as software, simulator enclosures, impact screens, projectors, and gaming PCs - should also be considered.
You can use regular golf balls, but spin and other data may be less accurate. For best results, we recommend ball tracking stickers or RCT balls, which are designed to work with your launch monitor. Some products may specify a particular ball - check individual product pages for details.
