Most rangefinders give you a straight-line distance and, at best, a slope-adjusted number. The FlightScope i4 goes further by connecting to real-time weather data through the FS Golf app, so every distance reading reflects the actual conditions you are playing in. FlightScope calls this system the Environmental Optimiser (FS EO), and it is the same technology used in their professional-grade launch monitors.

The FS EO pulls in six environmental variables and applies them to your distance calculation in real time:

•  Local air pressure

•  Air temperature

•  Humidity

•  Density altitude

•  Wind speed and direction

•  Relative landing height (elevation difference between you and the target)

The result is an effective playing distance that accounts for everything the ball will encounter in the air, not just the physical distance to the flag. On a cold, windy morning where the ball does not carry as far, the FlightScope i4 will adjust your yardage upward. On a warm, still afternoon at altitude, it will adjust it down. To get the most out of the FlightScope i4, you will need the following:

• The FS Golf app installed on your mobile device (available for iOS 16.0 or later and Android 10.0 or later). The app is required to access the i4's advanced features including effective playing distance, club recommendations, and wind data
• A mobile device with cellular data or an active internet connection. FS Mode, which powers the environmental data and club recommendations, requires connectivity to pull real-time weather information
• Bluetooth capability on your mobile device to pair with the i4 rangefinder
• The FS Golf app is also required for the i4 Smart Gapping tool, which uses your personal shot data to refine club suggestions over time

Note: The FlightScope i4 is not compatible with the FS Golf PC software. It works exclusively with the iOS and Android versions of the app.
