The minimum room size for your golf simulator will depend on which launch monitor you want to go with. Camera based launch monitors (photometric) will need slightly less space as they set up next to the ball. Radar based launch monitors set up behind the ball so they will need more space.
We would recommend Next to the Ball launch monitors minimum dimensions:

Do I need to use special golf balls?
You can use regular golf balls, but spin and other data may be less accurate. For best results, we recommend ball tracking stickers or RCT balls, which are designed to work with your launch monitor. Some products may specify a particular ball - check individual product pages for details.
